Overview
Fume Arms
Fume arms (also called extraction arms) are flexible, movable extraction devices designed to capture fumes, smoke, and dust directly at the source before they spread into the workspace.
Fume arms are connected to a fan and filtration system through ducting. The arm can be positioned close to the source (e.g., welding arc), where it captures contaminated air through a hood. The air is then pulled through the arm, into ducting, and into a filtration unit where harmful particles are removed before clean air is discharged or recirculated.
They are used in areas where:
- Work is stationary or semi-stationary
- Fumes are generated at a specific point
- A flexible, movable solution is required instead of fixed ducting
- Multiple workstations need individual extraction points
How it works
