What is it

Tubular Pulse Collector — Industrial Dust Control at Scale

GPC's tubular pulse dust collector uses short bursts of compressed air to dislodge dust from cylindrical filter bags while the system remains fully operational. Dust-laden air enters the collector and flows through the bags, with particles accumulating on the outer surface forming a dust cake.

The cleaning principle is based on pulse valves opening briefly to release a high-pressure burst of compressed air into a blowpipe above the filters, creating a shockwave through the venturi. Unlike shaker systems that require shutdowns, tubular pulse cleaning operates on-line — making it the preferred choice for continuous heavy industry operations. Galaxy Pollution Control designs, installs and maintains these systems across Australia.

Operating Principle

How the Cleaning Cycle Works

Unlike shaker systems, tubular pulse cleaning operates while the system stays fully on-line — no shutdowns, no interruptions, no lost production.

01
Dust-laden air enters the baghouse
Contaminated air is drawn into the tubular collector housing. The airflow is directed so dust-laden gas passes from the outside surface through each cylindrical filter bag.
02
Dust accumulates on outer bag surface
Particulate matter collects on the outside of the filter bags, building a dust cake. Clean air exits through the inside of the bags and is discharged safely.
03
Timer or pressure signal triggers cleaning
Cleaning is automatically initiated at set time intervals or when a pressure differential sensor detects filter loading — ensuring consistent, efficient performance.
04
Pulse valve fires — compressed air burst
A solenoid-controlled pulse valve opens briefly (0.1–0.2 seconds), releasing a high-pressure burst of compressed air into the blowpipe above the filter bags.
05
Shockwave dislodges dust cake
The air travels through a venturi, creating a rapid shockwave that propagates down the filter. The pressure wave causes the bag to flex, shattering and detaching the accumulated dust cake.
06
Dust falls to hopper — system continues
Dislodged dust falls into the collection hopper for discharge. While one row cleans, all others continue filtering — zero downtime, uninterrupted airflow.

Why Galaxy Services?

We don't just supply components.
We engineer systems that perform.

We assess airflow, pressure drop, dust characteristics and layout so your Tubular Pulsing system is correctly sized, properly calibrated, energy efficient and fully compliant. Industrial dust systems fail when poorly engineered — we design them to perform.
