What is it

Pulse Jet Bag Filter — High-Efficiency Particulate Control

GPC's Pulse Jet Bag Filter is a unique type of air pollution control equipment used to remove particulate matter from industrial gases. It consists of a series of fabric bags / cartridges that capture particles as the gas flows through them.

Our Pulse Jet Bag Filters offer high efficiency in particulate removal, low operating costs, and versatile in handling various types of dust. They can handle large volumes of gas with minimal pressure drop and are suitable for high-temperature applications.

The cleaning principle of our pulse jet dust collector is based on short bursts of compressed air that dislodge dust from filter bags or cartridges while the system is still operating. At set intervals (time-based or pressure-based), a pulse valve opens briefly (usually 0.1–0.2 seconds). This releases a high-pressure burst of compressed air into a blowpipe above the filters. The air travels down through a venturi, creating a shockwave.

Operating Principle

How the Cleaning Cycle Works

The cleaning principle is based on short bursts of compressed air that dislodge dust from filter bags or cartridges while the system stays fully on-line.

Timer or pressure signal triggers cleaning cycle
Cleaning is initiated either at set time intervals or when a pressure differential sensor detects filter loading — whichever comes first.

Pulse valve opens briefly (0.1–0.2 seconds)
A solenoid-controlled pulse valve fires for just 0.1–0.2 seconds — a precise, high-frequency burst that cleans without overwhelming the system.

High-pressure air burst releases into blowpipe above filters
Compressed air travels through the blowpipe header positioned directly above each row of filter bags or cartridges.

Air travels through venturi, creating a shockwave
The air enters through a venturi nozzle, entraining secondary air and creating a rapid pressure wave that propagates down the entire filter length.

Shockwave dislodges dust cake — falls to hopper
The pressure wave causes the filter media to flex, shattering and detaching the accumulated dust cake, which falls into the collection hopper below.

System continues filtering without interruption
While one row of bags is being pulse-cleaned, all others continue filtering — ensuring zero downtime and uninterrupted process airflow.
